A festival of average size but with a wide scope, and always accompanied by an exhaustive catalogue that makes the festival known all over the world, F&P since 2001 turns the town of Cesano Maderno into the center of the Italian photography scene every year. Its importance is partly due to the exhibitions on an international level, the “off” events, open to new proposals, the meetings and the lectures, but also to the fact that during F&P the city becomes one big photography gallery, with shows in every available public and private space, from the halls of the prestigious Palazzo Borromeo, to the cinema, to the library, to associations, hotels, bars and shops.

The international photography festival Foto&Photo becomes biennial. In 2007 its splendid seat Palazzo Arese Borromeo housed an important and special event to give the official communication. As usual, the drive behind the festival is the Cesano Maderno town council with the patronage of Provincia di Monza e Brianza, Assessorato per l’Attuazione. The point of junction with the festival next edition was the magnificent exhibition Celebrità dietro l’obiettivo. This great event has given continuity to the commitment in fine art photography in the Brianza area, and has kept high the excellent level that Foto&Photo has gained in the past 6th editions.
